Stefania Pitscheider Soraperra leitet seit 2009 das Frauenmuseum Hittisau. Als Mitglied der Künstler:innengruppe WochenKlausur hat sie zahlreiche Projekte an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kunst und Gesellschaftspolitik realisiert, etwa für den steirischen herbst, die Shedhalle Zürich oder die Biennale von Venedig. Sie hat am Kunsthistorischen Museum Wien, der Kunsthalle Wien, der Shedhalle Sankt Pölten und dem Kulturzentrum Cooperations in Wiltz (Luxemburg) gearbeitet. Als Ausstellungskuratorin, Kunsthistorikerin und Kulturmanagerin gilt ihr Interesse gesellschaftspolitischen und feministischen Fragestellungen. Sie stammt aus Südtirol (Italien) und ist ladinischer Muttersprache. Stefania Pitscheider Soraperra has been director of the Hittisau Women’s Museum since 2009. As a member of the artist group WochenKlausur, she has realised numerous projects at the interface between art and social policy, for example for steirischer herbst, the Shedhalle Zurich and the Venice Biennale. She has worked at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, the Kunsthalle Vienna, the Shedhalle Sankt Pölten and the Cooperations cultural centre in Wiltz (Luxembourg). As an exhibition curator, art historian and cultural manager, she is interested in socio-political and feminist issues. She comes from South Tyrol (Italy) and is a native Ladin speaker. Pitscheider Soraperra is a board member of ICOM Austria and IAWM (International Association of Women’s Museums) and a member of the Research Council of the South Tyrolean Provincial Museums.
